Some Rules to Get The Most Out of Mail

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (OS X)" @ 02:00 AM

"If you're overwhelmed by your e-mail, Mail's rules can help. Use these simple yet powerful tools to sift through your e-mail and apply changes to messages, filter messages into specific folders, forward them automatically, set off alarms, and more."

All good rules (using color, highlights, alarms, etc) and by using them you really can get control of your email inbox. You can also use the same things with Gmail. Just a reminder in case you find yourself spending way too much time dealing with email, there is help out there for you!

Apple Changes Rules in App Store

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (iPhone/iPod Touch)" @ 09:00 AM

http://www.mobilecrunch.com/2010/02...rules-in-place/

"Things just got a lot more wholesome in Apple's app store as a boat load of apps were just banned, and new rules for future apps have been put into place. Bring on the lynch mob!"

Some of the rules are no skin, no women or men in bikinis (men in bikinis??) and no apps that imply sexual content. The list goes on of course, yet they still have the Playboy app in the store even though approximately 5,000 other apps have been pulled. It is this kind of inconsistency that is maddening for the developers as well as the customers.

Read The Rules

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple News" @ 12:00 PM

http://www.appleinsider.com/blogs/g...ncing_ipod.html

"A marathon runner was disqualified from her victory after it was discovered she listened to music on her iPod for a portion of the race. According to the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel, 27-year-old Jennifer Goebel was stripped of her victory time of just over three hours. She said she believes it was unfair."

Seems silly that they would ban electronic devices, but that being said, if she knew what the rules were before racing then it is her own fault. She wasn't the only DQ in the race as the person that actually finished ahead of her was DQ'd for accepting water from a friend that wasn't at one of the pre-determined aid points. Again, something that was also pointed out to all competitors before the race.
