Readdle Giving Away an iPad and Putting All Apps on Sale Until 8/2/10

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 08:56 AM

"To celebrate the 3rd anniversary we are giving away 3 iPads and introducing an ultimate 48 hours sale for all of our applications."

And what a sale it is, putting all of their applications out there for $0.99 USD each. So if you have been hesitant to give ReaddleDocs (our review) or Scanner Pro (our review) a try, now is the time to snag it, but you only have until tomorrow. You can find all of their apps on iTunes [affiliate link], and if you want to enter their contest for an iPad, head on over to the promotion website [link] and see all of the details for entering.

Domino's in UK Joins FourSquare Promotions

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad)" @ 08:00 AM

"Domino's UK is starting a nationwide Foursquare promotion that rewards mayors with free pizza once a week, a deal similar to the one Starbucks announced last week."

If you aren't familiar, Starbucks is offering rewards for frequent check-ins and even better rewards if you are the mayor. For Domino's, even if you just check in periodically, when you do you receive a free side dish if you spend more than £10 (or around $14.50). Nice tie-in if you use FourSquare.

Apple Begins Back to School Promotion

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple News" @ 06:00 AM

"It's that time of year again! Apple's throwing a bone (or, alternatively, trying to lock-in) green undergrads heading to college for the first time with their annual "Back to School" program, which nets eligible students a free 8GB iPod Touch (or $199 off any other iPod)."

The promo runs through September 7th, and your "free" iPod is actually in the form of a rebate so you will have to wait for about 90 days before it actually becomes free. And you have to meet some eligibility requirements as well as purchase from the Education Store at Apple.

Heckuva Promotion For You Students, Staff and Faculty

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple News" @ 08:00 AM

"In addition to quietly updating the consumer-friendly MacBook, Apple on Wednesday also launched an iPod promotion targeted to students."

And not just for students, as the deal is open to students, staff and faculty for any K-12 school or higher educational institution. Purchase a MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air or an iMac and you get a free iPod Touch. Keep in mind you have to buy the iPod Touch at the same time as the qualifying Mac to get the rebate.

Yea, its a rebate promotion, which I absolutely hate. I wish they would just take it off the total price when you check out since I can never remember to finish up the rebate process until the deadline has passed. But if you can remember to fill in the form (online form, much better so at least they are making it somewhat easier) within the time limit you get a pretty good deal. The promotion ends on September 8th, and the rebate forms have to be submitted online by October 9th. Full promotion details are available at Apple.
