Mophie Juice Pack Pro, Military Grade Protection for the iPhone

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 04:00 AM

http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/05/...ro-iphone-4-4s/

"Staying true to its peripheral nature, Mophie's outed yet another iPhone companion: the Juice Pack PRO."

Very spendy at $130.00 USD, but it does offer Military Grade protection from the elements. It doesn't offer as much time as other battery packs but it will at least double what you have with a regular iPhone.

Keychain Battery From Mophie

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "The Competition" @ 05:00 AM

http://www.cultofmac.com/170063/tin...ne-emergencies/

"Imagine the scene: You're in the middle of a particularly intense iPhoneography session, and the photos you're getting are gold. You snap one keeper after another and then shift over to SnapSeed or some such app to really spice things up. But you're so engrossed in the process of editing that you don't notice your iPhone's battery is almost dead until you get the dreaded pop-up warning."

At only $35.00 USD, it's not that bad of a price for some extra battery life from Mophie. I don't run into this problem myself but if I were on the road a lot and depended on my iPhone, I might pickup this thing for some extra peace of mind. It only gives you about 30% life but that might be all you need to get you to the next power outlet.

Mophie's iPad Stand

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 08:19 AM

http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/re...stand-for-ipad/

"Mophie's take on an iPad stand shouldn't come as a surprise."

Mophie brings their version of the iPad stand to the table, and I have to say I do like it. Lightweight aluminum, adjustable arm that rotates to show portrait or landscape views, charging station and it works on all three versions of the iPad. The only downside, and it's a small one, is that you have to remove the case from your iPad before using this. Oh wait, there is that small thing about price. At $150.00 it is not cheap, and for what you get, I think it's overpriced. What are your thoughts?

Recalls for Mophie and Rocketfish Cases

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 03:00 AM

http://www.tuaw.com/2011/12/01/moph...rheating-cases/

"A couple of recall notices went out earlier today for Mophie and Rocketfish battery cases."

So Mophie and Rocketfish have cases on the recall list, both with overheating problems. If you have one of the Mophie cases (determined by the serial numbers with the first 5 digits between TR113 and TR120) then go here to get the recall form, or call 877-308-4581.

If you have one of the Rocketfish cases, which have the model number of RF-KL12 for the iPhone 3G or 3GS, you can go here to see the recall site they have set up, or you can call Best Buy at 800.917.5737.

Mophie Workbook for iPad 2

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 02:00 AM

http://www.macnn.com/articles/11/05...as.magnet.lock/

"Accessory maker Mophie is now shipping a new version of the Workbook for the iPad 2. The case uses a folio design, with a soft interior and a fake leather exterior. One side of the Workbook folds back to work as a stand, allowing an iPad to rest at multiple angles."

Nice case, if you like the folio style. This also allows you to still use the dock connector so you won't have to remove the case to charge or sync. They also utilize the magnetic integration so that when you open the case, it wakes the iPad 2. It sells for $49.95 USD [link] and comes in two colors, black and white. You also get 4 interchangeable straps in a variety of colors.

Mophie Juice Pack For Your Verizon iPhone 4

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 09:00 AM

http://www.appletell.com/apple/comm...etell+Appletell

"Whether you're picking up your Verizon iPhone 4 in-stores today or expecting it to be shipped to your house in a couple of days, one thing is for sure-you're going to need extra juice for your iPhone 4."

Just announced but not set to ship until February 28th, this will run roughly $80.00 USD, but if you plan on being on your iPhone 4 a lot or just not in an area with convenient charging options, these are great devices to have.

An Incentive From Intuit to use GoPayment

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 12:49 PM

http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/12/...-through-febru/

"Perhaps just to show that it is not hip to be a Square, Intuit has rolled out a serious incentive for businesses to jump on the GoPayment bandwagon."

The big one is no monthly service fees, and only $0.15 per transaction fees just sweetens the pot. The icing on the cake is they are also sending you a normally $179.95 USD Mophie Card Reader to use with your iPhone. It's for new customers only, but if you are interested you can find out more at the Intuit GoPayment site.

CES 2011: Mophie's Case Incorporates Credit Card Reader

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 06:00 AM

http://www.cultofmac.com/mophies-ne...w+(Cult+of+Mac)

"Mophie's newest case, launched yesterday, incorporates a credit-card reader and allows business owners to process physical credit card transactions through the iPhone. To interface with the case's reader, Mophie recruited Intuit's free GoPayment app, which is compatible with Inuit's flagship QuickBooks small business accounting package."

I love Mophie products, they are usually so well made, and this one has the added bonus of a card reader on the bottom. It is a bit spendy at $180.00 USD, and it works similar to other card readers such as SquareUp. The difference here is this one is built in to the case itself, without a device hanging off the bottom of your iPhone that could be broken off or damaged. An advantage to SquareUp, though, is that it doesn't cost you anything for the device (they earn their money via transaction fees) and SquareUp's device can be used with your iPad. Still, if you want a slick interface and flexibility to work with your provider of credit card services, this is the way to go.

Mophie for iPhone 4

Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 12:38 PM

http://www.tipb.com/2010/09/02/moph...t=Google+Reader

"Dieter's at the IFA show in Berlin, Germany and he's scored us a first look at mophie's upcoming juice pack air for iPhone 4. It's got soft touch paint and they claim ZERO signal degredation because the entire PCB board is on the bottom, so there are no electronics around the antenna."

I've been waiting for this to come out! I have one that I used on my 3GS with great results, and this one looks even better. It will sell for $79.95 USD and will be available within the week. They will also have it available in black red, white and green. From the pics it appears to add quite a bit of thickness to the iPhone 4 however, so I'll have to get a look in person at the real thing once it comes out (This one was prototype apparently.).
