Google Reader and Flickr Support Added to Flipboard

"Flipboard, the iPad app of the year, was updated tonight with several new features. Flickr support was added to the personal, news-based magazine in addition to support for Google Reader."

I may end up using the free iPad app Flipboard more now that they have Google Reader capability. You can also browse friend's Flickr stream and the best part of all is that you can now update your status to Twitter, Facebook and Google accounts simultaneously.

News Readers for iPad

And the iPad is one of those consumption devices. This article goes over some of the more popular news readers that are customizable to the users needs or wants. And according to Mashable, Pulse, Flud, Flipboard and The Early Edition are 4 of the best out there. I use Pulse and The Early Edition and really like what they do, and I'm anxious to give the other two a try. Flipboard especially, but I'm still waiting for that dang email with the code. One of these days...

Flipboard for iPad is an Elegant Way to View Online Media

"Flipboard is a new iPad application that creates a personalized digital magazine based on you interests, and on what your friends are doing and reading on Facebook and Twitter. It may not sound like much, but it's actually really compelling."

I've had a couple of days to play with this, and I have to say: I really like it. The interface is extremely elegant, and it seems to be a natural way to look at news. I did have some initial problems with it because the Flipboard servers were apparently overloaded, but since then it has been smooth sailing.
