CLEAR 4G iSpot Only Works With iOS Devices
Posted by Joe Johaneman in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 07:30 AM
"Since the promise of unlimited 3G internet access via AT&T on the iPad has evaporated into the mist, the makers of various mobile WiFi hotspots have been nosing around the iStuff market with solutions aimed at iPad, iPod touch and iPhone users who don't want to pay full freight to AT&T."
Using MAC addresses, the iSpot prevents any device other than an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad from connecting to it. It also only works in areas covered by CLEAR 4G services. Personally, I can't imagine why I'd want a device that purposely prevents me from using my laptop with it, nor can I imagine paying for a device that doesn't at least fall back to 3G when no 4G is available. However, if you're interested in it, you can find price and availability data on CLEAR's website.
