Rumor: iPhone 4 Factory Upgrade from 256MB to 512MB

"We have since heard that the upcoming iPhone 4's RAM has again been upgraded. This will bring it to a total of 512MB of RAM, twice as much as the 3GS and iPad."
According to rumors from WWDC and reported on several sites (ex. AppleGazette and MacRumors), the iPhone 4 will be upgraded at launch from the planned 256MB (same as the iPhone 3GS and iPad) and delivered with 512MB. Reportedly this change was confirmed by Apple at WWDC in one of the sessions, (Session 147, Advanced Performance Optimization on iPhone OS, pt 2).
If this rumor proves to be true, iPhone 4 users should notice some pretty drastic performance improvements over the 3GS and even over the iPad despite sharing the same processor. More technology for the same money is always a plus for the consumer.
