Apple Thoughts: Skype Updates iPhone App to 1.3

"Skype has released the latest version of its application for the iPhone, adding new features and fixing a couple of annoying bugs that hung up calls."

One of the problems was that Skype would hangup VOIP calls made over Wi-Fi when you received an SMS, or when the low battery notifier kicked in. Annoying! What is cool about this version is that it also allows you to use the landscape mode (see above), as well as checking your call quality during a call. Press a green button and you get a pop-up window with relevant information, something that is already a feature in the Windows 4.2 Desktop version.
