Order Online! Well, Unless You are in NYC

"Apple's exclusive U.S. iPhone wireless provider AT&T began halting online sales of the touch-screen device to residents of New York City and its surrounding areas this past weekend but has been unable to provide a reasonable explanation as to why."

So AT&T is fast, but it doesn't do you much good if you can't buy an iPhone! Stuff like this does nothing good for a company, something AT&T should already have learned. Being honest with your customer is the only solution, not offering several different excuses that don't make any sense. "New York isn't ready for the iPhone" doesn't really make sense if you are then told to go to a brick and mortar store to buy one, in New York! It is all weirdness and someone really dropped the ball in making sure that the communication about this situation was going to be consistent.
And now they have resumed selling online per Reuters
