Bodega, an App Store for Your Mac
Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple Software (OS X)" @ 12:00 PM
"Apple developer IDFusion on Monday is launching Bodega, an application that brings a Mac App Store to users' desktops."
Interesting idea, and they already have 150 applications available for download at their site. They plan on getting their revenue stream from advertisers so unlike the iPhone app store, Bodega won't take a cut from the sales for developers that place their software here. The app will feature reviews of the applications, best selling apps, automatically check for updates for apps you have purchased and keep all your registration keys handy in the Bodega application. I would think the established developers would continue to use their own websites for distribution but this might be a pretty good way for new developers to get their products out there. What are your thoughts?
