Apple Voted "Most Innovative" Again

"Apple polished its revolutionary image in 2008 with its online iPhone App Store. While its Mac and iPod expand share, success in the supposedly mature cell-phone market is one of the greatest achievements of CEO Steve Jobs, pictured here."
I think the iPhone will go down as one of the biggest achievements of Steve Jobs' career. The iPod was great, and it changed the music industry, but the iPhone came into a market sector that, as Business Week notes, was considered to be "mature" and changed the industry to the point where companies like RIM abandoned theiir traditional product line to try something that mimicked Apple's new device. Since the launch of the iPhone, the "touch screen" phone has taken off, and every company is trying to come up with the best "iPhone" for their carrier, manufacturer, or client set.
Apple walked into a "mature" market and simply changed it, and whether or not you own an iPhone, you've benefited from the wakeup call Apple sent the industry.
