Apple Thoughts: iPhone 3.0: Accessories

Johnson and Johnson was on hand to demonstrate the new connectivity between applications and third party accessories. They demonstrated a LifeScan glucose meter that could communicate readings with the iPhone and, for diabetic children with iPhones, text that reading to parents so that they could keep an eye on their kids and their readings. Of course, the big story here is that connectivity like this will open the door to the Nike Plus making its debut on the iPhone soon, much to the joy and welcoming arms of many people who love their Nike Plus. I can only imagine the kind of apps that will take advantage of this connectivity, but if what Johnson and Johnson has come up with is any indication, it's going to be pretty awesome.
