Turn By Turn on iPhone: Not So Bad Actually

"Finally, after nearly two years, a developer has released the first real-time, turn-by-turn navigation application for the iPhone. XROADS G-Map ($19) is clearly the best real-time navigation option for an iPhone right now, but we ran it through the same tests we would a stand-alone TomTom, Garmin or Mio system to see how it fared with the big boys of navigation."
I guess if you don't want to shell out for a standalone unit, the iPhone is a pretty good substitute with XROADS G-Map installed. Me? I still prefer my Nüvi, and for a feature that, to me, is indispensible. Voice navigation. When you don't have to constantly look down at the screen, you're a safer driver. Other than that, though, for most people this isn't a bad value.
