Apple Thoughts: Apple Awarded Patent for Touch Interface

"Apple last week was awarded a monstrous 358-page patent covering the touch screen, graphical user interface, and methods that combine to define the iPhone user experience."

This patent was awarded last Tuesday and names several executives, including Steve Jobs, in the filing that covers pretty much everything about the iphone and how it operates. This is interesting in light of the comments Tim Cook made about defending the product, and appears to give them a foothold to backup the challenge. Couple interesting notes about the patent, it mentions a "blogging application" and a "digital video camera application."
