Apple Thoughts: Apple Certainly is on a Roll

"Apple's been on a roll lately. They sold a record 18.65 million iPhones in the first quarter and for the first time zoomed past Microsoft in terms of profitability. The 49,400 Apple employees helped the company earn $14 billion annually and pull 30 percent growth in earnings per share."

Apple beat Microsoft in revenue and profit, tops Google as most valued brand and now comes this little gem that says Apple is closing in on Nokia and has reached the number two spot in global smartphone maker list. Not to be stopped there though, Apple is also now number 35 on the Fortune 500 list [link]. To hit number two, they had a 114.4% growth spurt versus the industry rate of 79.7%, achieving 18.7% of the global market versus Nokia's 24.3% share.
