Mac App Store Download Figures Point to Success

"Apple announced today that over one million apps have been downloaded from the Mac App Store in the first day. "We're amazed at the incredible response the Mac App Store is getting," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. 'Developers have done a great job bringing apps to the store and users are loving how easy and fun the Mac App Store is.'"
You can't argue with the numbers, and I'd say 1 million downloads is pretty successful for having been open only one day. Even if you don't go with this being a success, all you have to do is ask a company like Evernote. They are reporting that they had an 1800% increase in new users on the Mac after the opening of the Mac App Store. They have even posted a graph on their blog showing the effect the opening had on their user base. It will be interesting to see how this plays out but the early signs are pointing to success. What are your thoughts on the Mac App Store?
