Reeder Updated, And Calls Out The Competition!

"Reeder for iPad, a popular RSS reader for the tablet device, debuted a major upgrade this week-even as its creator went public with his feud against a competing application."
Can't blame the creator of Reeder for iPad [affiliate link] for being a little perturbed at how his competition, Mobile RSS HD, has a surprisingly similar interface. So on the same day that Reeder was updated with "Readability," a feature that lets you read articles within the app from your RSS feed grabs, Silvio Rizzi showed just how similar the two apps are by posting side-by-side comparison shots, which ended up here. The similarities are striking. So striking in fact, that Instapaper [affiliate link] and Read It Later [affiliate link] have both pulled their support for MobileRSS HD. As of this posting, MobileRSS HD is still available in the iTunes store, but Rizzi has notified Apple about what he calls a "rip off" of his work, and I can't blame him.
