iPad Can Now Painfully Edit Google Docs

"Hot from the GooglePlex is that iPad users can now not only view docs in Google Docs, edit them in Google Docs, but now we can also switch to the Desktop view to get the full power of Google Docs editing:"
No more View-only for Google Docs on the iPad. In addition to now being able to make basic edits, the option exists to edit in desktop mode (use the desktop version button), allowing many more editing functions. On the Vimeo video (click here), the author does a quick walkthrough, and, while the functionality is there, the user experience is not quite ready for prime time. The author recommends an external physical keyboard to get better results. He also mentions that the toolbar looks better in landscape mode, but functions better in portrait mode. Pretty impressive, as mobile Safari hasn't been the best at supporting more complex web 2.0 functionality, yet. Full editing within a browser window, yes please! Not a replacement yet for better text editing on the iPad, but definitely an improvement.
