Xmarks Saved by LastPass

"Today we're excited to announce that Xmarks has been acquired by LastPass, makers of a leading cross-platform password manager. It's a great opportunity that ensures the survival of Xmarks as the same service that you know and love."
Great news for all of you that use Xmarks, and from past stories I know that is quite a few. LastPass is a multi-platform password manager that keeps all of your passwords secure. Xmarks is going to be using what they call a "freemium" business model (just like LastPass uses) according to the Xmarks blog post. Basically the service remains free, but you can add some premium services for $12.00 USD per year, services like smartphone apps. They are also going to offer a bundled service for Xmarks and LastPass, something that seems appealing since it will only cost you $20.00 USD per year.
