Doctors and Nurses at Ottawa Hospital to get iPads
Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad" @ 08:00 AM
"The Ottawa Hospital will deploy 'several hundred' iPads to its doctors and nurses next month. By the end of the year the institution should have deployed 1,000 or more of the Apple tablets for mobile access to health records "and the number will go up from there," reports 'CIO Canada'"
We are seeing more and more stories like this, as institutions find that the iPad is a device that does indeed help them do their job better. Since the beginning of this year, the hospital has had all the records that the doctors and nurses need available digitally so it was an obvious step to allow them mobile access so they didn't actually have to leave the patient to go look at their records. The next step for Ottawa Hospital is to incorporate iPhones and iPod Touches into the mix so they won't have to carry the iPads everywhere. Sounds like a good mix to me!
