Apple Thoughts: Another Gate for Apple, This Time Glassgate

Bottom line here, is just be careful when you put the slider case on that there aren't any foreign objects inside the case that might scratch, or in extreme cases cause enough pressure to crack the case. I used to do that with my 3G and 3GS too so it didn't scratch. Next thing you know they are going to put stickers on the top rung of ladders warning people not to stand there. Oh wait...
