Nike+ GPS App Now Available
Posted by Jeff Campbell in "Other Apple Hardware" @ 05:00 AM
"Nike has released its Nike+ GPS app in to the App Store this morning, and it allows users with a GPS enabled device to track their runs without the $19 Nike+ shoe sensor accessory. Record your pace, distance and the route you ran using just your device's built-in GPS and accelerometer."
From what I've heard about this from some of my more athletic friends, Nike has really done a good job with this app. I'm more of a walker so I don't think this would work too well for me, but I'm going to find out as it appears to take much of the guess work out of tracking your workout, as well as keep track of some vital information you might need should you actually want to improve your performance. You can also find more info about this at the Nike site or go to iTunes and check out the $1.99 USD app [affiliate link] that goes along with the shoe sensor. If you use it with the iPhone, you don't need the sensor as it uses the built-in iPhone or iPod Touch's accelerometer.
